TEXAS SCORE

Eligible Projects

Our Texas SCORE Program provides technical and financial assistance to help participating schools and local governments identify, implement and publicize renovation, new construction and maintenance projects that reduce peak electric demand. With incentives up to $240 per peak kW, the more you save, the more you earn.

Indoor and Outdoor Lighting
Modern, high-efficiency LED commercial lighting uses at least 75 percent less energy and lasts up to 50 times longer than traditional incandescent lighting. We’ll help you choose a lighting system that can significantly lower your energy costs and improves lighting quality.
HVAC System Upgrades
High-efficiency commercial HVAC equipment uses approximately 10 percent less energy than standard equipment. Additionally, the Environmental Protection Agency estimates at least 25 percent of commercial HVAC units are oversized, meaning there's a good chance you could keep your space comfortable with a smaller, less expensive unit.

ENERGY STAR® Certified Pool Pumps
Commercial customers with in-ground pools are eligible to save on a new ENERGY STAR® certified variable-speed pool pump. These efficient pumps use up to 70 percent less energy than traditional models, extend the life of your filtering system and can save you up to $1,000 per year in energy costs.
Cool Roofs*
You may not think of your roof as something that can save energy. High-efficiency roofing materials reflect solar heat instead of allowing it to be absorbed into your building. This reduces the load on your HVAC system and can lead to significant savings.

*Incentives available for buildings cooled with refrigerated air only.
ENERGY STAR® Certified Commercial Food Service Equipment
Commercial kitchen equipment consumes a surprising amount of energy. Serve up the savings by replacing your old equipment with ENERGY STAR® certified appliances.
New Construction
Incentives are also available for new construction projects. Incentives are calculated according to the efficiency of new buildings, as compared to code requirements.
Other Measures
Incentives are available for upgrades made to other equipment and processes that use and save energy including:
  • Refrigeration Measures
  • Miscellaneous Controls
  • Other Building Envelope Measures
  • Pumps and Motors with VFDs*
  • Custom Projects
*Must result in peak demand (kW) reduction to qualify for incentive.
Additional Services
Based on a participant's needs, the SCORE program also provides energy efficiency solutions using the following tools and services:
  • Energy Performance Benchmarking for existing facilities.
  • Energy Master Planning Workshops allow you to learn about industry best practices and determine where best to focus short- and long-term resources.
